Recently, though, by default, a platform for the party appears to be gelling. The way to this is being paved by the democrat candidate for mayor of New York City, a communist (who claims he is not a communist). He says he is a “democratic socialist”. This Muslim is uniquely qualified for the mayoral position of the Big Apple, having served time in the music business as a rapper. He is also well financed, and has rich parents who have afforded him the luxury of taking a break from having a real job so as to pursue his political ambition. Who among our readers was born with such a silver spoon? Politics is one of the few professions where applicable experience isn’t necessary and only financial wherewithal, the gift of gab (able to lie with a straight face) and popularity matters.
Does any conscious person believe that this character truly represents the working people of New York? Can he relate to them? He doesn’t even represent the Jews of New York, who are many and not too happy with his “anti-Semitism”. Nevertheless, they would pinch their collective nose and vote for him anyway because they’d rather support a communist than a republican. Just ask the average Cuban how well communism has worked for them. It has the largest homeless population of any state in the U.S., and the cost of living is so outrageous that many formerly middle class people are packing up and leaving for states where taxes are lower, and real estate is more reasonably priced. The less fortunate among the disinfranchised can’t afford to leave and must join the ranks of the “working homeless”, forced to live in their vehicles because paying rent leaves them with no money for food and other necessities. This scenario is appalling in a land overflowing with resources. If California were a nation it would have the fourth or fifth largest economy in the world, which makes the poverty there all the more appalling. This wealth disparity exacerbated by democrat-socialist-communist tax and spend policies and politicians who believe more taxation, rules and regulations lead to prosperity, which it does not.
Back in New York comrade Mandami promises “free” child care, “free” municipal buses, city-run grocery stores, a minimum wage of $30 per hour, hard core rent control and a host of other give away programs, all the way up to the confiscation of private property if such a thing can be done. He would do this largely at the expense of “rich white neighborhoods” which he intends to tax more. If this sounds discriminatory it most certainly is. What will happen is what always happens under communism, and specifically when the government tells landlords how much they can charge for rent: many landlords will cease to provide units since overhead will exceed rent collected and housing availability will collapse. Some “rich” people plagued with higher taxes to support the “free” programs will flee to Florida, which will welcome them with open arms, less taxation, and a relaxed regulatory environment. If you are a homeowner/landowner imagine some rich bully suing you because you will not sell your house! The land grabbing corporation has employed lawyers to allege that the holdouts have colluded to prevent the purchases, which they claim is in violation of anti-trust laws. All these people have done is talk with each other about it, which is natural for neighbors and certainly not a “collusion”. Of course, unprincipled lawyers can always be found to take up a frivolous lawsuit such as this. Several years ago Hedge fund manager David R. Webb, happened to come across an obscure, unannounced change in the Universal Commercial Code. As it stands now, the person or retirement fund (for example) that puts money into stocks is last in line to get their money back should a catastrophic upstream failure occur! In other words, if the s___ his the fan, individual retirement accounts built on stock investments could all of a sudden be wiped out, having been absorbed by huge financial entities that had used them as collateral for shaky investments and there is nothing the original investor could do about it. The change in the U.C.C. literally establishes a "protected class" which is first in line in a time of crisis, and thus they cannot lose because the system considers them "too big to fail". All that is needed to get a war going is to bribe political representatives, who can be bought very cheaply as opposed to the profit that will be realized by the multi-national corporations.
